How To: Red Lip

The most important step in perfecting the "Red Lip" look is finding the right shade.  Personally, I love Illamasqua's "Maneater", but it's all about your skin tone, eye and hair color.

Once you have found the perfect color, follow these easy steps:

 1.) Fill in your lips, making sure to follow the natural contour of them.  Do not go outside the lines...your lips are the shape they are for a reason...EMBRACE THEM!

 2.) Make lips into "kissy face" and make sure the insides of your lips are filled in.  You don't want the inside of your mouth peeking through in your pics!

3.)  Here is my secret...Use a WHITE eye-liner pencil and follow along your lashes.  

 4.)  Blend in with the back side of the pencil like this Revlon one.

 5.)  Line the corners of your eyes.

 6.)  Line along the skin between your bottom lashes and your eye.

 7.)  Use black mascara on the top and bottom lashes.

VOILA!

For Spring we can't wait to mess with color blocking, experimenting with pinks and reds TOGETHER, long sweaters paired with maxi's, bringing back the pumps, and playing with over-sized cardigans!!

SPRING COLORS: I want YOU

so we are currently drooling over the up and coming colors of Spring.  looks like we will be visiting Dylan's Candy Bar more than usual...and can you blame us?  CANDY COLORS ARE IN!!!

To Lita or Not To Lita

 

Obviously the Jeffrey Campbell Lita is the "it" shoe of the moment...and let's face it...IT'S EVERYWHERE! (including our blog)

We were talking earlier and surprise surprise...the Lita's came up.  We decided to have an open forum about your thoughts on them.  Here's what we got:

Mary-Margaret: "It is okay to wear them if you already own them....but it is NOT okay to buy them now." 

Jenny: "There is so much hype around them now that they are not "different" anymore...but they are probably the most comfortable shoe EVER."

IMPROVD NYFW EVENT!!

IMPROVD (pronounced improved) is a new store that just opened in MePa.  The designer, Valentino, was the creative director for Diesel for many years, and in the past year started designing for himself.  He opened his first store a little over a week ago, and we are delighted to show you pictures from his NYFW event.  Instead of mannequins, Valentino and his creative team used video footage of real models posing and projected them onto cut outs of the pose they are each in.  You may find yourself staring at the holograms, as the models wink, wave, and make goofy faces, captivating the audience.  

IMPROVD will be featuring new artists throughout the months and hosting parties to promote them.  We can't wait to see more from this store!  We will keep you posted about upcoming events!
